eTags

Buyer Tag

The eTag system is designed to make processing dealer tags fast and easy for dealerships throughout the state while making temporary tag information available in almost real-time to law enforcement.

The eTag system:
  • Works via a web-based application
  • Provides greater security by using unique numbers on every eTag
  • Replaces old style tags that are no longer legal

webDEALER

webDealer iconwebDEALER – eTitles is the new system that will allow dealers to process title applications and new registrations online. In addition, the system includes electronic titles, or eTitles, which can be stored and transferred electronically.

Phase 1 of webDEALER includes new vehicles and began rolling out statewide in February. Additional dealers and counties are being added each month as we go forward. TxDMV Regional Service Centers are working with counties to set up and support the rollout to their dealers. The schedule began with the Austin Region dealers and counties. We are now working with counties across the State.

Later phases will expand the system to include used car dealers, salvage dealers, and eventually even private party sales.

If you would like to sign up for webDEALER, contact your local county tax office.
